Disaster Recovery Specialist

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of disaster recovery strategies and solutions to ensure the continuity of IT services in the event of a disaster. This role requires a proactive individual with an understanding of IT infrastructure, risk management, and disaster recovery planning.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans and procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify short comings within IT systems and processes surround the disaster recovery program.
• Coordinate with IT departments to ensure disaster recovery plans are integrated with existing systems and practices.
• Lead disaster recovery exercises to test the effectiveness of recovery strategies.
• Ensure service owners have educated their staff on disaster recovery protocols and procedures.
• Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers related to disaster recovery.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in disaster recovery and business continuity.
• Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of disaster recovery plans and make recommendations for improvements.

CooP Program Manager

The continuity program manager is responsible for managing day-to-day continuity programs, representing the Department of Defense at working groups, as appropriate, and reporting to the Continuity Coordinator on all continuity program activities. Develops Continuity of Operations Plan in accordance with DoDD3020.26 and DoDI3020.42. Conducts technical evaluations and assessments of Information System Contingency Plans, Annex Es/Ks, and disaster recovery plans.  Develops an organizational business impact analysis to determine mission essential functions, impact assessment, maximum tolerable downtimes, and linkage to higher level mission essential functions.  Conducts continuity exercises of the COOP Plan and develops after action reports and corrective action plans.
